Air has overwhelming insulation ability compared to other vibration isolation materials like rubber or springs.

Filling up the air is easily done with the attached inflator at the air filling terminal on the front panel RAF-48 enables easy refill of air with a small inflator where conventional air floating boards needs compressor and other big implement.

High grade materials for the top board and the cabinet!
Air floating or magnet floating cut off the vibration from outside, but there remains the affection to the sound given by the materials directly contacting the equipment.
The reason is the vibration generated by the audio equipment themselves; vibrations of the motor of a CD player, an analog player, current of amplifiers etc. that shakes the top board of the air floating board/magnet floating board and be fed back to those equipment.
RAF-48 uses the best Finnish Birch with the best possible audio characteristics for the top board and cabinet, and for the lively audio quality with the energetic low range.
Floating boards with top board materials like glass, acrylic, plywood laminate will pick up those vibrations and make a dull sound, with poor low range.
